Darien Police say they were dispatched to the area of Christie Hill Road and Top O’Hill Road on the report of a two-car motor vehicle accident on Tuesday, June 25 around 6:30 p.m.
Further investigation revealed that a teen motorist, identified as Harrison Robert Constantine, 19, of Stamford, was traveling south on Christie Hill in a 2006 Honda Accord when he crossed the double-yellow line and sideswiped a vehicle traveling north on Christie Hill, according to police.
Constantine’s vehicle was then driven off the right shoulder of the roadway where it struck a rock wall, according to police.
Constantine sustained a minor cut to his lip but refused medical treatment, police say.
During interviewing, police say Constantine appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He was asked to participate in a series of field sobriety tests, which he did not pass, according to police.
Constantine was arrested and transported to headquarters, where he allegedly refused to submit to a breath test.
Constantine was charged with DWI and failure to drive right. During processing, police say Constantine urinated and soiled himself in the booking area, prompting an additional charge for third-degree criminal mischief.
Constantine was issued a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear at Stamford Superior Court on Friday, July 5.
